At your service since 1957

Services de Réfrigération R&S is a Montreal-based family-operated company that was founded in 1957 by Mr. Louis Rivard. Noticing an absence of service in the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors in the Province of Quebec, Mr. Rivard decided to take advantage of the opportunity. With flair, vision and hard work, he succeeded in building his own company.

1957 Foundation of the company

Mr. Louis Rivard founds Services de réfrigération R&S inc. Mrs. Thérèse Legendre, his spouse, is in charge of administration.

1991 First contract with Bell mobility

This first contract is the beginning of a strong business partnership that still continues today.

1995 Beginning of the expansion

Claude Rivard buys his father’s company and gives a new vision to the company.

1996 Moving on Chambord Street

The growing needs of the company requires the acquisition of a new building on Chambord Street in the heart of the Ahuntsic neighborhood.

2000 First contract with Telus

Services de réfrigération R&S confirms its expertise in the telecommunication industry.

2002 New business center in Gatineau

The opening of this new location allows serving a vast territory more effectively. Our services are then offered to all the region of Outaouais and Ottawa.

2003 Moving in the Saint-Michel neighborhood

The company is actively pursuing its growth. The number of employees required a larger working space.

2006 Major project of energy savings

The expertise of the team is put to profit in a major project in the aviation sector. A subsidy of nearly one million is granted for the project.

2011 Modernizing the truck fleet

Concerned about its environmental impact, the vehicle fleet is being modernized to reduce polluting emissions.

2015 New offices

A building located on the 14th Avenue in Montreal is acquired. Major renovations are undertaken to create a state-of-the-art working environment.

2016 Arrival of the third generation

Antoine Rivard joins the company as an engineer.
